ESTABLISHED SINCE 1988

Middlecombe is a family owned business run by husband and wife, Nigel and Isy North.

Previously a cut flower nursery, it became home to their horticultural expertise in 1988, and 31 years on they’re still growing strong with the help of two of their four children, Becci and Leigh, Nigel’s 88 year-old mum, Mave, and their three granddaughters, Ellory, Esme and Winnie, as well as a small team of dedicated staff.

With almost 90 years of horticultural experience between them, Nigel and Isy offer friendly and informative advice, as well as an extensive selection of shrubs, perennials, climbers, grasses, conifers and trees, many grown on site, alongside quality local, British, Dutch and Italian stock including large specimen plants for instant gardens and a selection of exotics, palms and bamboos. They also stock a small variety of houseplants.

CUPPA Coffee Shop is located inside the nursery’s greenhouse and is run by son-in law, Drew. Serving Bristol Twenty Tea and Coffee alongside a selection of cakes and snacks that can be enjoyed in the relaxed greenhouse setting or in the outdoor seating area that overlooks the garden and nursery.

Situated a short distance from the A370 between Bristol and Weston-super-Mare, on the edge of the village of Congresbury in North Somerset, the nursery covers approximately three acres in a slightly hidden countryside setting.

The nursery has car parking and is within easy walking distance of a bus stop on the Bristol Road
