Just Crisps are made from just two wholesome ingredients working together with nothing added but a little seasoning. We’ve been growing potatoes, amongst other crops, on the farm for generations so it seemed like a natural progression to combine them with our oil.

Just Crisps are produced on the farm where our potatoes are sliced with their skins on to give a rustic look, the starch is washed off giving them a softer bite, cooked in our award winning Just Cold Pressed Extra Virgin Rapeseed Oil, flavoured by hand, bagged, boxed and delivered to our customers.

The crisps are cooked in small batches to ensure consistently good quality

Rapeseed Oil is 35% lower in saturated fat than Sunflower Oil and therefore, unlike others, Just Crisps offer a unique 100% British snack in a very competitive market.

Just Crisps are winners of Great Taste Awards and more recently a Great British Food Magazine Farm Produce Award

NOT JUST ANY CRISP

100% British, our home grown potatoes are sliced with their skins on and batch cooked in our Award Winning Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil. Rapeseed oil contains 35% less saturated fat than sunflower oil.

My family has farmed at Hill Ridware in Staffordshire for 4 generations. Potatoes and many other crops have been grown on our land since my great grandfather’s day and it is our hope that future generations will continue in our tradition, bringing produce to the market which is wholesome and nutritious. We have now combined our potatoes with our own rapeseed oil to bring you Just Crisps.

Just Crisps are full of natural flavour and come in five delicious varieties as well as an Unsalted one. Just Crisps come in 40g, 150g and 1kg Sea Salt Catering bags.

ABOUT US

Farming methods have changed in many ways during the years that my family has farmed at Hill Ridware, The technology available to us these days would have astounded my great grandfather!

The key principle of agriculture remains the same though: we care for the land in a sustainable way and, in return, it provides for us. Intensive farming practices which became popular in order to maximise the yield form the land have a downside in terms of ecological damage and even potential risks to human health. These risks have been widely documented. As supporters of Natural England, the public body set up to protect and improve England’s natural environment, we believe in the sustainable stewardship of the land.

Countryside Stewardship was introduced in 1991 to encourage farmers to enhance and conserve the landscape and wildlife and also to make it more accessible. This was later superseded by the Environmental Stewardship Scheme which continues to encourage works such as hedge laying and planting, and repairing dry-stone walls. At Wade Lane Farm, we have planted 2 miles of new hedging and we leave 6 metre grass margins around fields so that wildlife can flourish.
