The Royal Lodge at Symonds Yat East, Ross on Wye, Herefordshire has an idyllic setting in the heart of the Wye Valley on the edge of the spectacular Royal Forest of Dean.
The Lodge is nestled below Symonds Yat Rock overlooking the River Wye. It has terraced gardens of Magnolia trees and a well established Wisteria. The Royal was converted from a Royal Hunting Lodge to a hotel in the 1920′s and is now operating proudly as 4 Star Guest Accommodation. The Royal Lodge is a great place to unwind with long relaxing walks in outstanding scenery

Restaurant

The Royal Lodge has Hunters restaurant which offers fine food which is locally sourced where possible. We offer a creative and well thought out menu offering local dishes and international cuisine.  In addition to our restaurant menu we offer bar snacks in our Cafe’ Bar and Garden Room. Most guests prefer to eat on the sunny terraces of the hotel gardens during the summer months. We also offer Sunday lunches and a range of children’s’ meals. High-chairs are available on request.

Accommodation

The Royal Lodge has 21 en-suite bedrooms which are arranged so that 20 take advantage of our unique position on the edge of the River Wye and make the most of the views so that every room faces the tranquil river or gardens.

 We have a selection of Superior, Classic, Standard, Twin, Family and Single Rooms as well as our 4 Poster Room which allows us to offer unrivaled flexibility. We will be pleased to discuss any special accommodation requirements you have. All the rooms are comfortably furnished in-keeping with the buildings character.

We have a comfortable family lounge where you can enjoy our log-burner in winter and where you can read or play board-games.
