ABOUT

For over three decades, our family has been growing hops in beautiful Herefordshire.

The scent, colour and texture of a fresh hop garland is very special. Harvested from mid-August until mid-September, these beautiful, natural decorations can be delivered direct from our farm to your door. During September we are open every Saturday 11am – 6pm & Sunday 10am – 12 noon if you would like to come and collect directly from our farm. From October, we supply dried garlands. Like the fresh garlands, they can be used to add form, texture and beauty to any space and they make particularly effective decorations for weddings and festive decorations.

If you have any questions please contact us. And if you would like to consider a longer visit to our farm, have a look at the details for The Corn Mill, our holiday cottage.

AWARDS

Mark is a multi-award winning hop grower. The flavour and quality of his hops have received international accolades and have been selected to brew some of Britain’s finest craft ales. For the last 10 years, Mark has worked in partnership with the Charles Faram Hop Development program. He has played a key part trialling new hop breeds that will guarantee Britain’s position at the forefront of the worldwide hop market.

In early 2020 for the second year running our Harlequin Hop was crowned Overall Champion at Britain’s National Hop competition. Harlequin was also awarded Supreme Champion at the Wellhopped World Series Awards in 2019. Industry-leading craft brewers using our hops include Siren Brewery, Moor Beer and Yeovil Ales. Marston’s, Black Sheep and Fuller’s are just some of the regional brewers that have selected our hops.

Every season our 50 acres of perennial hop plants produce approximately 40 tonnes of flowers. Once harvested and dried, these are then used to brew over 46 million pints of beer across the UK. We also nurture, prune and harvest 12,000 cider apples trees.

Thanks to Mark’s expertise, our farm is productive and innovative. We also have the advantage of Herefordshire’s climate and extraordinary soil which we will always do our best to protect. We love what we do.
