The Coastal Gardener, a small specialist plant nursery and garden design practice.

 The nursery is at Fakenham Farm Eddington Road, St Helens on the Isle of Wight, PO35 5TN. The nursery is very much a hub for inspiration and advice. We host events and activities throughout the year including free talks, charity events and courses. Our raised beds showcase the plants we sell and we hope you’ll be inspired by our planting combinations. Visit us and see for yourself!

 The nursery is open from 10am until 4pm, Thursday to Sunday, from March to mid-October.

 We specialise in plants that thrive in maritime conditions, although most of our plants will thrive in inland gardens too. We have many unusual and hard to find perennials as well as a small selection of shrubs and trees. Most people discover at least one or two plants they’ve never seen before.

 We propagate almost all the plants we have for sale. Many are sown from seed collected at the nursery and from cuttings taken from our stock plants – truely Isle of Wight born and bread! We take our environmental impact seriously and use peat free compost, organic feed and we re-use plastic pots. We can supply some of our plants bare-rooted or in biodegradable pots.
