Thorngrove Garden Centre is a traditional garden centre in the heart of Gillingham for over 50 years. Thorngrove was bought by Scope as its first residential home in 1963 and the garden centre was started in 1967. Thorngrove was taken over in 2017 by Employ My Ability and is currently undergoing construction to dramatically improve the facilities and create a fantastic environment for our customers to visit. Thorngrove is one of the very few garden centres who have the pleasure of growing the vast majority of our plants on site, meaning the very best quality at the very best prices. As well as a fantastic selection of home grown plants, pots and large gardening selection we also have The Secret Garden Café (now open) for the best homemade coffee and cakes, our Garden Shop providing garden accessories and gifts, as well as several glass houses and nurseries, so please feel free to take a look around on your next visit! Our friendly staff are always are always on hand to assist you in all of your gardening needs and we look forward to seeing you soon! |

Thorngrove is a not-for-profit organisation that provides services for the disabled in the Gillingham area of Dorset and produces quality plants all year round.
Staff and volunteers are dedicated to providing a service for the disabled here in the community of Gillingham and surrounding villages. We have many service users who work at the nursery, doing jobs ranging from general horticultural work, to creating quality carpentry products for outdoor use. We also provide a means for groups to take part in various activities throughout the year such as sports activities like football and skittles to social clubs and horse riding.
You can see us at the shows in the area such as the Bath and West Show and the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show in August where we sell our beautiful plants.
Our Garden Centre here in Gillingham is open 7 days a week. We have a huge selection of plants. Bedding throughout the year, herbaceous and some quality shrubs and trees including fruits and vegetables
