Green (Fresh Cut) Willow

Green in a willow grower’s term means fresh / newly cut willow that is extremely flexible, so there is no need to soak in water. Please be aware that the rods will shrink as they dry out.

Green willow can stay flexible for up to 6 weeks.

Suitable for plant climbers, hurdle making, outdoor sculpture projects and as non living weavers in live projects. Not suitable for Living Willow projects.

As a rule of thumb, soak brown willow in cold water for one day per foot in length to make it pliable enough to weave with, e.g. a 3ft bundle will need 3 days soaking time, a 6ft bundle will need 6 days soaking tim
